WELCOME PAGE
Welcome to the
Sterling Caravan Owners Club. If you own any of the vans listed at the
top of this page then you are eligible to join our Club
The Clubs origins
go back to 1959 when it was formally known as the Sprite Caravan Owners
Club.
2005 brought new beginnings for the Club with the launch of the New
Sprite range. Happy memories were rekindled as the Clubs origins stem
from the Sprite Caravans which were originally made at Newmarket in
Suffolk. The Club welcomed back the arrival of our old friend the Sprite
Caravan and with it new Sprite members joined new and existing Sterling
members to swell the total Club membership.
Whilst Club membership has fluctuated in recent years, currently the
Club is on the up and it is pleasing to report appears to be going from
strength to strength.
The Club is divided geographically into 8 areas which cover the entire
United Kingdom. Over 100 rallies are being held this year within the 8
areas, these in turn provide members with the opportunity to visit other
parts of the country whilst at the same time participating in the fun,
friendship and enjoyment of attending a Club rally. Our rallies vary
from organised weekends full of many varied social activities to more
quieter weekends for those members who prefer to sit, relax and just
enjoy the beautiful peaceful local countryside.
The Club
organises holiday rallies to suit everyones personal preferences,
including a mix of long and short term holiday rallies both at home and
abroad. During the past 7 years the Club has visited Holland, Germany,
France & Ireland.
The highlight of
the Club rallying year is the National Rally which is hosted each late
Spring Bank Holiday by one of our 8 areas. This year, 2012, the event is
being hosted by the North West Area at Daresbury in Cheshire. The full
participation and enjoyment of all those in attendance each year is
always guaranteed.
Each of our areas
supports a local charity of their choice throughout a given year.
Through this involvement members of the Sterling Club always strive to
help others less fortunate than themselves.
Whatever your personal preferences might be in the world of caravanning,
potential new members can always be assured of a warm welcome to any
Club rally. Full details of the Clubs 2012 programme of events can be
found on the Rallies page
The membership to
the Club
costs just over 34p per week. So if what you have read interests you and
